This events has already taken place.

Resolutions submitted ahead of the November 12th deadline that will be debated at the general meeting can be found here.

Find the meeting agenda here.

In January 2025, the Ontario NDP will hold its biennial convention, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto. The party will be piloting various technologies to enable a hybrid convention with virtual participation as well.

In advance of this exciting convention, the Toronto Centre NDP will be electing our 16 convention delegates to represent our riding association & debate policy resolutions to send to the convention for debate at a virtual general meeting on Saturday, November 16th. All members of the Ontario NDP in Toronto Centre are encouraged to attend. We will email RSVPs the login information for the Zoom meeting closer to the meeting date.

Please send policy resolutions to [email protected] by 11:59pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 for consideration at this general meeting. We'll send out the submitted resolutions to attendees the following day in advance of the meeting on Saturday. Only Toronto Centre NDP members in good standing may submit policy resolutions, and no more than 3 resolutions may be submitted by one person. If you are submitting multiple resolutions, please prioritize them in your email.

Resolutions must include:

  • Resolution’s title
  • Word count (should not be more than 200)
  • Policy grouping of resolution (one of the following: Agriculture and Food; Arts, Culture, Information, and Communications; Economy; Education; Environment & Energy; Governmental Affairs; Health & Long Term Care; Housing; Human Rights & Equity; Indigenous Affairs; Labour & Employment; Law Enforcement & the Justice System; Municipal Affairs; Social Services & Benefits; Transportation; Constitution & Internal Affairs)
  • Constitutional resolutions must reference specific sections of the constitution that they aim to replace, add to, or strike. Internal affairs resolutions are encouraged to identify the body of the party they are instructing, and to focus on items which can be achieved between the 2025 Convention and the next provincial convention, and to follow the SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-Bound)
  • You can find the latest version of the policy book, as adopted by Provincial Council on June 15, 2024, here.

To be elected as a convention delegate, you must be a member in good standing of the Ontario NDP.  If you're unsure of your membership status, please contact us and we can check for you. Renewing today will extend your membership through the end of 2025 as well.
