2025 Pre-Convention General Meeting

Previously, the 2025 Ontario NDP Convention had been scheduled for January 2025, however it was postponed due to the early snap election.

In September 2025, the Ontario NDP will hold its biennial convention, at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre in Niagara Falls. The party will be piloting various technologies to enable a hybrid convention with virtual participation as well.

In advance of this exciting convention, the Toronto Centre Ontario NDP will be electing our convention delegates to represent our riding association & debate policy resolutions to send to the convention for debate at a hybrid general meeting on Wednesday, July 16th. All members of the Ontario NDP in Toronto Centre are encouraged to attend. Note that while new boundaries were used for the most recent federal election, the provincial boundaries (first used for the 2018 general election) are presently unchanged.

Please send policy resolutions to [email protected] by 11:59pm on Thursday, July 10, 2024 for consideration at this general meeting. We'll send out the submitted resolutions to attendees thereafter in advance of the meeting on Wednesday. Only Toronto Centre Ontario NDP members in good standing may submit policy resolutions, and no more than 2 resolutions may be submitted by one person. If you are submitting multiple resolutions, please prioritize them in your email. 

Note that resolutions that were passed at the previous general meeting in 2024 do not need to be re-submitted; they'll be dealt with separately.

Please ensure resolutions meet the requirements laid out in the resolutions guide found here. You can find the latest version of the policy book, as adopted by Provincial Council on June 15, 2024, here, to use as a reference.

To be elected as a convention delegate, you must be a member in good standing of the Ontario NDP. If you're unsure of your membership status, please contact us and we can check for you. Renewing today will extend your membership through the end of 2025 as well.

  • Regular delegate: $375.00
  • Early bird delegate (until August 1): $325.00
  • Underemployed or youth/senior (under 26 or 65+): $50.00

Per Ontario's election finance laws, convention fees are considered political contributions and therefore are eligible for a tax receipt of up to 75% and count towards your individual contribution limit.
